But cool, i want to ge tile when I get a larger tank this summer

I'd get rid of the calci-sand but that's me. Maybe some more plants. But then again it's just my opinion.

All the geckos i have ever had have been on calci-sand an i have never had impaction with any of them.

take your sand away. and what is the purpose of a barometer? do you mean a hydrogmeter?(humidity measurer)

I wouldn't get rid of the sand all together...although I would use less.

Do you have a UTH, or is all the heat coming from the overhead heat lamp? Your thermometer is stuck to the glass, near the top of the cage. If your only heat source is the overhead lamp, and heat rises, then the air (and glass) where your thermometer is is probably a little different than the actual surface temperature ("belly heat". You want to measure temps down at the bottom of the cage -- how much actual heat is coming up from (or bouncing off of) the tiles &/or sand. Best bet is to get an UTH with thermostat to keep temps regulated, but at the least, get another thermometer so you can measure surface temps.
