Rex has a cut on his tail now

lizzylizard Feb 05, 2004 05:40 PM

Things are just not going good for Rex I just took him out and noticed he has a cut on either side of his tail. It looks like he cliped it in something, but there is nothing that sharp in his cage. Everything is sticking to it, so I just rinsed it with a few drops of water, and have put him in a tupperwear bowl untill it dries a bit (which hopefully it does). That would be all we need is to have it get infected, should I put something on it? polysporin? HELP PLEASE, there is no vet out here that I can take him to.

If anyone knows if I should or shouldn't put anything on his tail please let me know, thanks

Neosporin is the best thing for a cut. You really need to find out what he cut himself on. Run your fingers over everything in the enclosure("carefully". Make sure you soak him to get his wound flushed out then apply the neosporin. He'll be fine.

Hi

Also keep him on a newspaper, papertowel substrate while it is healing.

Take Care, TLB
