I was just curious if adding aloe vera to my savannah's shedding tub would help aid him in the process? Does anyone know if aloe is safe to use for this purpose? Thanks!

That could make your monitor really sick. Plus that is for humans not monitors. Just soak the monitor in water for about an hour or two once a week. If the left over shed is really bad mist everyday and soak every other day.
Hope this helps.
Good luck,
Christine :>~
Whats with that?
They can have bubble baths, but no aloe? Not fair!
hahahahaha
Couldn't resist, dear, sorry!
You're gonna flatten me with your motorcyle for sure...
As a side note, I have noticed a faint black ring around the tub after my guy's soak. It has been present all along, and isn't dirt dirt. Do monitors have,...excretions...or glands in their skin somewhere? I wonder where it comes from.
D.
Goon you crack me up.
Alo vera can clog the pores in the monitors skin. Even with being diluted in water. Monitors absord water through their skin to hydrate their bodies. They can also secrete stuff out of their skin like dirt and oils. Hence the ring around the tub. My lizards do the same thing and so my tub gets cleaned about five or six times a week.
I'm not going to run you over anytime soon. I'm wanting to get a Rudi from you.
Speaking of how are the eggs? Are you holding any back and/or selling them?
Christine :>~
Hi.
I am in Canada, and the problem is, the parents do not have original import papers from Indo. They could have went through many hands before being sold to me. I hope it is different for real CB on Canadian soil.
I am hesitating to plan too much, this early. Well, that's not really true. I am looking now for a part time job, and that will be just for the monitors. Grow up bins and sub adult cages... If I had the resources, I'd be keeping them all, well, at least until I found people who will BREED THEM.
A CB roughneck sitting lonely in a cage as someone's pet is an absolute waste.
Thanks for the kind words. D.

That is a really cool pic Goon!!!!!! Congrats the eggs are looking great. Do you have the full clutch there still? I'm jealous! Your doing great.
Hopefully I'll get the pleasure to own a Dragoon BRN.
Keep me posted on them and I'll keep you posted on the Sav breeding project.
Christine :>~
