Veiled No Longer Interested in Crickets

Syd Feb 05, 2004 05:47 PM

I have a 10 month old Male Veiled that is no longer interested in eating crickets. He will eat superworms and silkworms and take an occasional bite out of his hibiscus leaves. He refuses to eat crickets and his temps. and lighting and everything else seems to be okay. He doesn't seem to be dehydrated and is showing no other signs of illness. Has anyone experienced this with their veiled? And how do I get him to eat crickets again? Thanks.

do you free range or cup feed, if you cup feed try letting them loose in the cage and let his instincts take over(mine will only free range)ordont feed him for a day or so and then feed him only crickets. also he may be hitting puberty and just being a brat

Your chameleon is probably just bored with the crickets. I would suggest continuing to feed him the silkworms and superworms for a while and then switch back to crix. Chameleons get bored with just one food source so it is best to offer a variety of insects.
