Orange baby ball pythons?

Laci Jun 08, 2003 12:25 AM

I got a new hatchling ball python, and it is REALLY orange along it's sides. If you hold it up next to my other ball pythons, or even the other hatchlings that hatched with it, there is an EXTREME color difference. Has anyone seen this before? Any idea if he will retain his color? He is absolutely beautiful. Any idea what made him this way? Could it be something in the way he was incubated, or something? Could it possibly be hereditary(every snake owners dream, lol!). Anyway, thanks in advance for the input, and I will post pictures next weekend when I get my own computer back.

Hi Lacy,

Usually, that orange color fades to a dark brown. It is pretty common in hatchlings. But who knows, your animal might be something special, now you get to raise it up and see. Good luck.
