How often should i feed my Leo?

LeopardGeckoMan Feb 05, 2004 07:21 PM

I feed my 9" female gecko 3 crickets and 2 or 3 mealworms a day. Is that to much? If so is that why my gecko is not going to the bathroom? Right now i am giving her warm baths for 30 minutes like some people suggested me too. ( Also my leo is 50 grams if that would help you make a decision ).
Thank You in advanced

im not to keen on feeding mine every day or every other day like alot of ppl here. id prefer to feed them once a week. they get a pinky once a week, and 20 crickets, or 6-12 silk worms every other week. now by week i mean friday. friday nite is feeding time for all my reptiles. and the constipation thing i really cant help u with that, ive never had that problem with ne of my geckos.
hope what i said helps a lil

Shouldn't be too much, maybe too little actually (unless you are talking about superworms), she sounds like she could stand to gain some weight at that length. If she is over a year old and you don't plan on breeding her anytime soon I'd suggest feed her 3x a week, as much as she will eat (may be more like 10-15 mealies in a sitting.

What substrate is she on? With the not pooping one worries about impaction
