Should we be worried?

deetu Feb 05, 2004 07:27 PM

Merlin has been closing his eyes alot. Mostly toward night. He has been running around his cage alot during the day, digging and scratching to get out. He's eating great and has a normal poo. His eyes aren't running and breathing is clear.

My son is worried.

He is probably just napping. If he is eating, pooping, and acting normally you probably don't have to worry. If he looses his appetite, if you notice and discharge from his eyes, nose or rear end (other than what it supposed to be discharged!) you should get him checked... But it sounds like he's just enjoying himself and basking.

probably worn out after all that running around and clawing to get out. I don't think you have anything to worry about unless he stops eating, pooing, shows notice discharge from eyes or mouth or is lathargic most of the day.

one of mines often sits with one eye closed when basking later in the evening, usually the one closest to his heat bulb. used to worry me a bit but its harmless
