NC animal committee meeting in General Assembly

If you live in NC, you might want to contact your rep and see if the public is allowed to attend. Go to this one if you CAN! If you can't, write your reps and let them know where you stand.

Parking for non-legislative members of the committee is available in the visitor parking deck #75 located on Salisbury Street across from the Legislative Office Building. Parking is also available in the parking lot across Jones Street from the State Library/Archives. The cost for visitor parking is $.50 per hour or $4.00 per day and may be reimbursed with a parking receipt submitted with your travel reimbursement form.

The Reptile Rescue is watching it and they are more interested in dogs and cats. They refused to deal with the carnivals with iguanas because "they had their hands full with dog and cat issues"

Yeah, but reptile people need to watch the dog and cat issues, just in case a limit is put on the number of "companion" animals a person can possess, a breeding regulation, or pass a manditory neuter legislation. The wording is everything. Even if reptiles aren't listed as companion animals in a state now, they could be in the future.
