tc5000 Feb 05, 2004 08:36 PM

Does any one here have any experience with these enclosures?

Thanks in advance for any help.

I have one for my blood python. It is really nice. The only problem is there isn't enough light. You can buy lights for it, I just didn't get any when I ordered it and I'm regretting it now. They do hold in humidity very well.

the standard Boaphile and Vision cages are not made for lizards, but rather snakes. there is no depth for substrate, and the heating and lighting setup is inadequate. you can try to "modify" them, but we have tried that a few times, and it just doesn't work well at all.

i have talked with Jeff at Boaphile before about making a monitor friendly cage, and he seemed interested, but i don't know how far he has come along with it, perhaps you could ask him.

Thanks Ryan. I’m in an apartment right now so an outside enclosure is out. I have a 10-12 week Dumeril’s Currently he is in a 75-gallon aquarium. I am looking toward the future. What do you think would be good? Cages by Design?

everything we suggest would be based around the metal troughs, and "do it yourself". none of the reptile cage companies make a decent lizard cage...
