Hi, I have a female veiled chameleon who is about 7 months old. I've only had her about a month, and she is my first. She seems to be looking for a place to lay her (unfertilized, most likely, and probably also her first time) eggs, and so I put a container of moist sand in her cage for her to lay them in. Up until now, I have been having her sleep on top of a bookcase in my room, and then I take her cage out everyday to get sun. I live in Miami and the temps are high, but she seems to really, really like the heat. She basks in the sunniest spots forever, until lately, where she roams the bottom of the cage looking for a nesting site. Taking her in and out has worked well for us, however, ever since I put the sand in her cage, it added another 20 lbs. to the cage and is extremely difficult to take inside. For the past three days, I've left her outside at night, in my covered and screened-in porch to sleep. The temp at night isn't too hot, but I'm very worried about the humidity. It's been disgustingly humid lately, and I assume it's been around 90% most of the time. This arrangement is only temporary, but I really wanted to ask people more knowledgable than myself on this if this could pose any health risks. Also, I've read that it's easy to tell when a female veiled is about to lay eggs, because they protrude from her belly. I don't see anything, though. How obvious is it?

Anyway, I appreciate any help anyone can give me because I really want to keep my girl happy and healthy. Thanks
