Benefit of a turtle that grows too fast...

The bumpy shell allows the smaller turtle better traction when climbing on top.

I hope your not serious. Pyramiding is in no way a good thing. There are no "benfits". You should cut down on how much you feed daily, and offer less protien and work in more greens into its diet such as Romaine lettuce, Anacharis and other aquatic plants. I can not see the picture so I can not tell how bad it is, if its bad at all.

I am kidding of course. This turtle grew to 4 inches in its first year, and is now on a much stricter diet of plants. She does get fish however when I feed my other tank inhabitants, but that is usually once a week or less.

Alright, sry if I offended you. I was just making sure =). I had the same problem with a painted. Its those darn pellet foods that cause it. They have WAY to much protien in them.
