NEED SOME HELP...Shipping through United Air Cargo, and their policies!!

snmreptiles Feb 06, 2004 02:14 PM

I'm going out to Maryland for two weeks on business tomorrow, and am trying to figure out how to get some frogs back from Sean Stewart (When I was out there in May 03 I got to stop by his place, and was BLOWN AWAY, not only by his setups, but also how genuine he seemed to be about helping me out with all my questions!) Anyway, I am flying united, and here's what their policy on pets reads...

United will accept all species of live animals which can be safely transported on its equipment. Acceptance and transportation of live animals is subject to special conditions and government laws and regulations.
EXCEPTION: The following live animals are not acceptable
for transportation via United:
Reptiles, which:are poisonous (including snakes)
exceed 50 pounds or
exceed 20 inches in length (excludes non poisonous snakes)
Poisonous insects, other than Queen Bees and their attendant bees

Anyway, does anyone have any ideas on how I can prove this to them? I am probably bringing back P. Terriblis, which doesn't help the matter at all either!! I have carried on animals in the past but after 9/11, it honestly scares the crap out of me and my methods had to get a little better, not to mention out of the 10 times I have flown since then, I have gotten called out to be searched 8 of them! THANKS FOR ANY HELP
