how much sand?

How much sifted playsand should be in the bottom of a dragons enclosure?

2 or 3 inches is a good depth to allow some burrowing. it also lets you sink branches and rock into the sand to secure them better.

AFAIK they don't really "burrow". I have about 1" of sand, and only just once in a while will Zeo go and "dig". He just went into brumation (He's only 13", but, it's not unheard of for juveniles to brumate, just not common) and the night before he fully slipped into brumation he was sleeping in a little space he dug out.

hi
if you use rocks place them direct on bottom of the cage so they cant digg underneat.
i have seen many stories here of beardies who got crushed by there own rocks they dig under!!
