We have a few kings and they all only get 1 mouse (of whatever size they can fit in their mouth) per week. You never want to overfeed...and in my opinion: Power feeding is a ignorant practice which endangers your snake's health.

If you are feeding 1 fuzzy a week he should be fine. You should notice that he'll poop a day or two before the next feeding...which is normally how it works. Always offer water and a place to hide.

In my experiances with kings...they can sometimes get into a mode where they have lots of energy and want to attempt to escape the enclosure or explore every inch of it. This is normal behavior and it usually passes as they get a little older...I'm not sure what you mean by that he seems hungry but if he's active a lot it's a normal occurance.

By feeding him 1 mouse a week and upgrading the size as he grows you can expect a full grown king with 1.5-2 years.....

Sure. You are feeding him enough but you could feed him more. I sure wouldn't feed him much less. If he were MY snake, I would be feeding him 1 hopper mouse every 5-7 days at that size. That's not excessive at all. But your schedule is fine too, I guess... he's your snake.

Kings are eating machines! One of their many great features. Good luck with him.

Wow I feed my brooks 4 fuzzies every 4 to 5 days. He isnt fat either. He is about 3 foot now. So personaly 1 every week seems pretty light to me.

Yeah, my brooksi are HOGS! :D I feed my hatchling colubrids one good sized meal every 4-5 days until they are about 18 months. That method has done me well, but to each his/her own. The nice thing with kings is they are pretty flexible when it comes to husbandry.

Just curious, why waste the resources feeding four small food items instead of one or two larger items?
