sliding door tracks?

_JT_ Feb 06, 2004 04:50 PM

I'm building a new enclosure for my sav and I'd like to have sliding glass doors on it. But I can't seem to find the little tracks to go on the top and bottom.

Does anyone kno where to find them?

Thanks
JT

I would advise against sliding doors, they are a pain. I have them on a few cages and I absolutly hate them. Monitors dig and they like to throw the dirt so it inevitably gets into the tracks and makes opening the cage very difficult. Try using a window instead. I haven't tried it yet but from what I have heard it is a million times better. It you do have to use a siliding set up I use aluminum "U" channel you can get at home depot, but once again be prepared for a big pain if you go that rout.

I use lots of that. Try looking at local glass shops or Try C.R.Larance(sp) Co. Do a search on that one.

Look for tee rails, with those bearings ride on a rail, not glass in a slot. The rail keeps the glass off the bottom and is not the problem that normal slot type are. Good Luck F
