soil vs water

When I first got my Ambo, I kept him/her (I’m not quite sure yet) in a terrarium with a small corner with a water bowl large enough to fit the turtle in submerged. He seemed okay with this set up, but not very happy/active.

As I did more research (on such fine sites such as
http://www.turtlepuddle.org/cuora/setup.html and
http://animaldiversity.ummz.umich.edu/site/accounts/information/Cuora_amboinensis.html), I realized that Ambos are the most amphibious of box turtles, and thus should be kept in mostly aqueous habitats.

This makes sense, since my turtle sits in his water bowl all day.

I’m going to rearrange his habitat so that his terrarium is mostly water, with a basking spot.

Does this seem like the best thing to do?
Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Ziggy

Yeah the more space the better and at least half should be shallowwater.
