tail not shedding right?

hjk Feb 06, 2004 08:27 PM

I just got my mali about 2 weeks ago. I have noticed his tail looks dull and looks like it has dead skin/spikes on it. You can see what i mean by the pic of him here. What should I do about it? How can I get the old stuff off? Thanks.

A soak in warm water might help about 100degreesF but whtever you do dont try to pick the skin off i know of a friend who did this and his mali ended up losing alot of spikes on the tail

I tried soaking him. How long does he have to soak??? And afterwards do you just let it go and see if it eventually falls off or what? Also, soaking him isnt easy, he isnt thrilled about it, lol. Any tips on making it easier? thanks.

Thats Weird Mine seem to like soaking they play in the water but if it didnt come off it might not be ready but you could try soaking him for about half an hour bu t make sure you dry him off fterwards esp. the tail

PS: mine always seem to have the most trouble when sheding their tail
