Power feeding baby corns?

Uncloudy Feb 06, 2004 11:18 PM

I have 2 new cornsnakes born Aug. 2003 and was wondering what or how many days apart should I feed these babies for them to get larger?
Right now I feed every 5 days checking for feces and defecation in terrarium and was wondering if that would suffice or is it bad news to power feed corns.
Also there is a link to Abbey my Okeetee(Abott line) baby corn, but its a huge picture and may take a bit to load, but you can also see a blue Betta fish in the background also.
A response would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You

Read down a bit on this forum. There are several discussions on powerfeeding. Generally the answer is no, it's not what's best for your snake, so why do it?

You'll get alot of different answers to what is considered power feeding.
Most of my august born corns are pushing 2ft. and I only feed them every 7 days.
hatchlings that are still feeding on pinks I feed every 5 or six days.
How large are yours? If they are big enough for fuzzy's I would slow them down to once a week.
This just my opinion.

My Okeetee Abbott line cannot eat fuzzies quite yet but my Creamsicle can.
Thanks for the response with the Okeetee I will feed 5-7 days depending on feces discharge and put the Creamsicle on 7 days.
