Best night lights

ChuUtena Feb 06, 2004 11:37 PM

On my tank I use daytime heat lights and nighttime heat lights. Obviously the daytime ones I only use during the day, and I keep the nighttime ones all all the time. The problem with that is that the night bulbs never last more than a month and a half. I've had the same daylight bulb since september, but I've gone through 3 nighttime bulbs now. Which bulbs have you had the best luck with? It's just frustrating to buy a new bulb about every 6 week, sometimes every 4 weeks. Thanks!

I have had the best of luck with both! I really dont mind putting a sock over my hand and unscrewing the night time one and putting in the daytime one. ( vise versa ,also ) I have found that it last longer only being on for 12 hours.

I've had good luck with the exo-terra bulbs. Had them for 7 months and still going. I use both the blue moonlight and the infrared red heat lights. You might consider putting the night light on a timer so you can just have it come on at night - if you don't need it during the day.

I don't know about everyone else but I use an infrared blub 24/7 365. I just leave the blub on all the time and they usually last about 4 - 6 months for me.
