MR. Cherry, back on 11/28/02 and 12/25/02, you posted pictures of yellow phase deppei......you you be able to tell me if you still have or could recommend a source for this linage? I love the color on these guys!!

the pastel phases of the deppei deppei that you are referring to are from a group of deppei that were collected and imported into the country by Randy Limburg back in the 70's. They were all collected in the mountains near Durango Mexico. They are pure deppei deppei and seem to be unique with those pastel colors of yellow, green, white, blue and orange ground colors. I personally have never collected that area, but in talking to Randy and Alan Kardon who both have extensively collected Mexico they are as distinct as the Kardon line of Deppei Jani. Presently in the country there seems to be 3 different groups of deppei deppei, Durango lines, Los Mimbres line and a line brought in thru Germany of unknown origin each has a unique look about them, but prsonally I am hooked on the limburg animals. I'm definately breathing a sigh of relief that they weren't included in the unfortunate accidental loss of animals you had last year. Thanks for the second look at this beautiful color phase....and for the better definition on linage.
