Puff, my 11.5 inch beardie, has gotten extremly sharp claws, to the point where i can't really let her walk on even my arm, she is on shelf liner, i was wondering what my options are for wearing down her claws, i would like to stay away from sand, cuz i'm scared of the risk of impaction, would like putting a piece of slate in the cage or something like that help, thanks a lot for yer help

Yes you can put slate or other rocks for climbing to help wear down the claws. Their nails can also be clipped but only the very tip where their is no blood supply. There is a website with a great illustration of where to clip the nail but I can't remember who's site it was on. Hopefully someone will jump on here with the addy for that. If you are not comfortable clipping them yourself you could always have the vet clip them on your next visit.

I use shelf-liner too, but my beardies nail stay filed down and I've never had to clip them once. I think this is because I have slate and a big rock for him to climb to get to his basking spot.

So I think the shelf-liner allows their claws to get long and sharp, but if you have some different textures of rock for them to climb around on it helps a lot.

Hi
go to a garden suply center.
and there buy some peices of flagstones.
you have diferent kind try to search for the one who have a sandy surface they looks like sandpaper.
one brick and then building with the flagstone a ramp toward the light make it in a 45 degree angel they love that .
imagine the ramp evil knevil got for his motor bike and make some thing for youre beardie toward the light .
then every time he go climming he wil trim his nails .
