Can Super Worms Eat Through Stomachs?

livxpreshun Feb 07, 2004 10:19 AM

Hello all,

I know my opinion but want to be objective here - I would like to know your opinion. Does anyone not feed super worms because of a risk of them eating through their cham's stomach? Does anyone have an experience where this has happened? Does anyone feed their cham super worms on a regular basis with absolutely no problems?

I am posting this for two women I just sold a cham to - they are worried about this so I wanted to bring it up so they can hear your voices. I also encouraged them to start posting - so please help them out Thank you!

i heave been feeding them to my chams lots latley my female jax loves them and my male also eats them a lot. also my friend uses them and neither of us have ever had any problems. the acid in the stomach kills them so fast they cant eat through the stomach.

Agreed. This is an old wive's tale. Have you ever noticed how fast superworms drown if even a little water gets into their container? It's inconceivable that they could survive in a stomach for any length of time. But more importantly I've got friends with 200 chams who's been keeping them for over 10 years and they've never seen it. So on both theoretical & empirical grounds it's "bubbeh meises."
