hey today i was watching my juvi female jax and i saw that she was shooting her toung out at the dirt and eating it i covered the pot up so she cant eat any more but should i just let her eat or should i leave the cover on. the dirt has none of the white rocks in it. it might just be something natural they do.

This is something that chameleons often do in captivity, along with eating tree branches. I believe that they do this in search of vitamins and minerals, dirt is rich in minerals. Try providing the crickets with a mineral rich gutload. Something with spirulina and or alfalfa in it. You could alos provide them with some Minerall a few times a week. I would leave the plant covered.

Agreed vis a vis the high quality gut load. But do NOT respond by overdosing with vitamins & minerals as so many people do. BTW, I use silver-dollar-sized smooth "river stones" to cover the dirst in my pots. That works well & is esthetically pleasing.
