He's only a baby but he seemed to take the pinky down quite well and it looks as if it's nothing in his belly. Would it be a good idea to feed him two pinkys a week?

IMO, the lump should be just big enough to be noticed. Just a small swelling. If you didn't see a lump, I would probably increase the size of ther food or, like you said, feed two.
