yup i had been attempting to hook up 2 of my oldest leos for a few weeks i wanted some het albino babies so i was putting my albino female with my normal male..well it never worked today i put her in there and it still didnt work. but her cage mate a high yellow het tangerine like him soon as i put her down his tail started rattling and he bit her..i was appauled but im guessing thats how the prossess goes? cus he bit her tail then jumped on her back and boom booom...and it was over...sound textbook to you? i just want some babiesoh yeah the albino came out to see what was upso he bit her tail but she turned and bit the shi.....outta him..so i put her back into her cage@!

Yep, what you described is very normal. The female that bit back is unreceptive, give her a couple weeks and try again. Just keep a close eye on them to make sure their ‘date’ doesn’t turn into a big fight.

Usually it takes only one act of copulation to provide a female with fertile eggs for the season. But I like to be on the safe side and put them together for 3 nights in a row, just incase everything didn’t go as planned. Most times, the female will still be receptive, I’m pretty sure it has something to do with ovulation. Take the male out after you see them breed, this will help keep stress to a minimum. Good luck!
