Hi, Dex is a very active Dragon just at 1 year old now.
Dex normaly roams my whole apt. with no problems, I have made sure that stuff like chemicals and other danger items are behind a few closed doors.
last week Dex went to hide behind the bathroom door.
I did not know that.
went to look for him and turned on the light in the bathroom.
He wokeup and went for the nearest exit ....
the gap between the door and the frame on the side with the door hinges.
he got his head in the gap and was not able to get the rest of his body thru ....
Not nowing this I came *WAY TOO CLOSE* to moving the door to where it would have killed him .....
major panic for about 5 minutes for him and me ....
he had his head and beared inflated so I could not get him to back out the way he got in and he was not happy with the door as a collar....
finaly as I started to find tools to pull the door off it's hinges to free him he calmed down or just panicked into a shutdown state.... so when I started trying to pull the hinge pin he figured out how to back out to get away from the tools ...
Wow!! seems he got out ok, no torn skin, no swelling, no signs of any tissue damgae and so on....
but for a minute there I thought I had just broke his neck with the door!
if he was any bigger he would not have fit.
he genraly does not hide behind doors.
just wanted to share the story and hope this helps others plan for what things can be a danger for a roaming dragon or other reptile.
