New Corns!!! *pics*

IcedGoddess Feb 07, 2004 03:18 PM

YEAY!! Look what I got today

You may remember "bloodycats" was looking for a home for a pair of corns in MN. Well, I'm in MN and I had the space, so here they are Penny is the amel female and is actually colored somewhere in between the two pics of her, very nice, not much if any, white on her dorsal side.

And Toad is the Anery male. A very light anery, maybe even lighter than my Breaden, and hardly any yellow...anyone wonder if he's maybe charcoal? (he's lighter than both these pics show)

Anyway, those are our two new corns. Aren't they beauties Thanks a million Janie!!

Wow, I love that amel When i saw "bloodycats" post her the first time i wished i lived in MN LOL my sister lives in Minneapolis but she would never hold onto a snake for me till it was safe to ship oh well... the anery is nice too but i'm pretty sure it is not a charcoal. most charcoals have a distinct look and not all anery a's have lots of yellow and not all charcoals have no yellow. Very nice snakes

I figured as much on the charcoal, and she did say it was sold to her as an anery. I am just so surprized he's so light. After comparing him to my other anery, who I also always though was a light anery, Toad is WAY lighter. But yeah, he doesn't have that charcoal look.
I'm thrilled with them both!

I started in corns, loved 'em, and I still do, but my pythons (balls and JCPs) really stole my heart. I am glad that I could find them a home where they would get the attention they deserve! Thank you, Dianne!

Between me and my daughter they've been stared at, photographed, and had their cages re-arranged already.
I still haven't decided if their names will change or not. Penny seems to fit her very well, and I like Toad, reminds me of the kid/cartoon show Wind in the Willows, but my daughter has other ideas for his name....maybe I'll know for sure in a month

>>I am usually the first to accuse people of jumping to conclusions, too quickly, when looking at pictures on these forums but I wanted to ask a question.
Due to the very similar appearance of the male amel to my female cream, Arwen, I was wondering if he has any cream in there?
Now, I am just curious and I am not trying to imply or insinuate anything.
thanks
Jimmy

They do look a LOT alike. But I think Janie said she got the amel from Leapin Lizards, and there was no mention of cream....she does have an attitude though, and is as big as my snow who's a year older. I'm assuming she's not a cream though. I would think Leapin Lizards would have advertised her as such.

There was no mention of creamsicle when I bought her. I went in and asked to see their females. They were very short on females and I don't like amels very much, but when I saw her I was sold.

The woman at Leapin' Lizards told me that she looked "candy cane" when I bought her, and as a hatchling her saddles were much darker orange than her body. I would never have called her candy cane though, even then. She was light-colored, but her ground color was always light orange, not white.

I suppose the only way to tell if she's part emory would be through breeding. Since she is a pet store corn, who knows what genes she's hiding? Perhaps some emory got mixed in along the way? Good luck with her!
