Pogo update...

pogo_the_dragon Feb 07, 2004 03:40 PM

Just wanted to let everyone know how Pogo was doing...Well he still has the coccidia...The problem I think was that I was using a digital scale I bought to weigh him and telling the doctor what his weight was...So 3 weeks ago when I took him to the vet I THOUGHT he weighed 135 grams...Well low and behold I weighed him today on a new scale because I believe the other one was defected and he's 284 Grams...WOW!!! I couldn't believe how much he weighed..So now he's 15" 284 Grams. Hows that??? I weighed a few other household things and the weights was very accurate...So now Pogo has another vet visit next week and hopefully now the doctor will prescribe the right dose of ALBON. He is really only a cat-dog type vet and didn't have anything to weigh something that small. He's slowly learning about Beardies, so we'll see what happens

It has been realized that there are can be acceptable levels of coccidia in a dragon and if it's not showing any signs of any problems to just keep an eye on any changes but now necessarily treat the dragon.

If your beardie is growing that well do you think this may be the case? Does your vet know about this new info?

Does anyone else here think this may be the situation?

Just something to think about.
