I've got two easterns.

Wayne, question: One of my eastern was WC late last year and didn't feed before brumation. I've never had one not eat rodents before, either mice or rats. If she won't eat I was planning on releaseing her but what do you suggest I try besides rodents? It would take an awful lot of ground skinks. lol

ok here are some methods Iv'e used
1 very small meal frozen thawed
2 very small meal alive
3 live anoles then frozen
4 wild type rodents
5 scenting with other snakes I use garters for most success
6 live snakes (I don't like to do it) save as a last resort
7 on smaller snakes Iv'e used salamanders (red backed)
Email if you need or want more suggestions

Thanks. I've always had good results with rat pinks if they won't take mice. I'm sure she'll eat. I think she was just already shutting down for the winter when she was caught. Every other one I've ever had from the same locality ate the first day in captivity. I'll be sure to try some of those things if she doesn't want mice or rats.
