You will notice the cham spends most of its time perched with its head straight up, it will inflate its gular pouch over and over, gulp, breathe heavily, gape (not while basking), lose appetite, be very lethargic, spend more time under the basking light but stay a darker color, and have blocked nostrils and lots of sticky saliva in the mouth.
