Chia pet seeds.. have any chemicals on them?...

i was given one a while back and wanted to know if i could just use the seeds and in my dart tank. but i don't know if anything bad is on them that can transfer to my darts. i read pack of seeds but no where does it say anything about chemicals used, but are chemical what makes them grow quick?
