When DO I Stop Brumation

bxherp Feb 07, 2004 07:56 PM

Hey everyone. I have two adult corns and one adult rosie boa in brumation since November, when should I start taking them out of brumation. Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.-ELvy

I am not an expert and do not claim to be..but...
I stopped feeding mine in mid Oct. Two weeks later (Nov.1) I placed them in a closet (room temp and dark) for a week. Then on Nov. 8, I placed them in the fridge at 60 degrees for a week. Nov 14, I then dropped the temp down to 47 degrees. They stayed there until Feb. 1. I took them out and put them in the closet (room temp and dark) until yesterday (Feb 6).
I placed them back in their tanks at normal temps at this time.
Next week I will feed them each a fuzzie and if they handle that the following week they will begin regular feeding schedules. They will continue a regular feeding schedule until the female sheds. Then they will be put together.
(I only brumated one pair this season)
This is similar to what I have read in a couple of books and sources on the internet. It may not be exact but I believe it should work.
