Patterns

Moyni Jun 08, 2003 10:41 AM

Just out of pure interest, and impatience, I was wondering whether slightly messed up patterns on my female corn, (as you see, from this old, but only photo I have) will be inherited by her offspring ( I've currently got her first cluch of 6 surviving eggs being incubated). What you can't see is the few zig zags on her tail, and her under tail is striped for a good 3 ins.

I like her slightly messy look, and was just interested. Her mate is her brother, and his markings are quite normal.

I'm not sure about the pattern inheritence.
You might end up with offspring that look like her, and then again you might not. Isn't that part of the fun of breeding?

As for the striping under her tail, that is normal. As far as I know, all corns have this striping, unless they are motley or bloodred.
