MAle digging...

Hi, i was just watching my Leos, and i saw that my male was digginf in the gravel substrate he is in... is this normal for a male, or is this odd? Thanks for the help

Geckos should not be on ANY TYPE OF GRAVEL remove him asap

My male was doing the same in his humid hide. He kicked the vermiculite everywhere as if he was going to lay soon lol. Maybe he's just bored? I had to clean up after him.

BTW, i would take him off gravel also.

the male does not do the digging during egg laying. are u sure yours is a male. change the hide box around put a hole inb the lid..it won't kick vermiculite out.. i use moist peat moss in my hide boxes.. If your male is digging he is probably trying to dig himself a burrow to hide and sleep in.. just because we think something is good for the gecko doesn't mean its good enough for himself..hehe
