there is no question, the GTP is one of the most beautiful creatures on earth. But why in the world do they cost $500,$750, or $5,000?!

I don't know where you're looking, but all of your prices listed are a bit high. Albino Balls $2000-2500 ea......and sometimes less. Lavender Retics $1200-2000 ea. and sometimes less. Your price on womas is about right at the $750-1200ea. range, but not $3000ea. Black heads are around $1500-2000 ea. I do thing the captive baby chondros are well worth what breeders are charging........at least in most cases. I personally would not spend $5K on a baby chondro......but that's just me.

So I shall retort,

so some may be a bit off ,but not by very much if any, I have seen animals for outlandish prices, as for the first lavender in the 75000.00 range I believe, it was purely an example to this lady, and trying to point out the prices as being wrong surley proves to me by this assessment as I may be right, right? d

I agree with not making this a pissing match. I wasn't trying to start anything, but the prices you listed are a bit on the high end.

If you think Bob Clark is the only person with black heads and womas, you need to do a little searching. Bob is higher on everything just because of his name. And I heard things that aren't very appealing about him.

albinoballs=2500.00

Again, your checking the high end of the scale here. Axanthics for $10K??!!! I've seen adults go for $3500 just in the last few months. And spiders for $8000. That's half the price.

This doesn't do anything to settle the debate. These prices could be anything from pastels to pieds. Apples and oranges as far as price and morph.......but I must say, I do think a high white pied is worth the extra just for the looks.

The name says it all. Neil is not exactly on top of things as far as pricing and knowing exactly what he has. Ever seen any of his chondro ads? LOL! Look at his 80% high yellow chondro ad he has.......a 2 year old biak for $1800. HAAAA! I've seen 7' pairs of lavender retics for $3000 pr. Hathclings are less. It all depends on where you look.

Again, not the norm. These are breeding adults he's selling. You can get hatchlings for $1200-2000 pr. Dan's price, IMO, is pretty darn good.

albino retics 2000.00each

Again on the high end of the price scale. I wouldn't pay $2000 for any pastel. I got my male for $800 shipped and it's one of the best I've seen ANYWHERE! A pastel is a pastel is a pastel. They all make pastels and super patels. Same as high and low white pieds. They all still make hets and pieds.

Looking for love in all the wrong places. LOL. High in my opinion.

Talking about a place that gets the price because of the name. If you didn't know, most of their chondros are WC imports.....and that would have to be a typo on the het lavender retics. I've seen hets for $1000-1500 pr. Of course the balls are average in price for high contrast.....even by NERD standards.

I agree to disagree on that last note. If those are the only prices you see, you need to search a little more. Maybe I just know where to look. And if you think those breeder prices are set in stone, think again. I've seen it from an inside perspective. All in all, snakes are worth what the customer is willing to pay for them.
Peace not war.
Brandon Osborne
Brandon, my point wasnt to say all of these snakes are always expensive, and I believe you know that, and by no means am I personally dropping 5gs on a blackhead, the point was that this lady was questioning the prices of this specific snake, and I specifically showed her what people can ask for snakes, again I think you knew that, I never stated that one couldnt find a better deal, but it was a clear answer to her statement. Yes you can find plenty of chondros for very reasonable prices, but there are also plenty that are from very clean lines, and have very specific traights that make them very expensive, and her asking was in need of clarification, and again I think you know that. lol -d
