Not sure I understand these responses. "Whatever" do you mean? Maybe you should read the quote in my signature. I really was just making a light-hearted joke. Maybe you proved a point I didn't even know I was making. This is the skink forum, isn't it? Maybe I'm being too clear. Maybe I should have just said "whatever" and then chuckled to my self.

I might be mistaken, but I believe I've been scoffed at. Please elaborate on the details of my inferiority. I shall strive to do better. Should I provide you a list of all my animals so you can tell me which ones aren't cool? Seriously, I need your help.

P.S. Here's a thought that has been rattling around in my head for a while. I didn't mention it before for fear of sounding rude but now seems as good a time as any. Anybody ever think it might be a good idea for blue-toungues to have their own forum?

Ok first up - speaking for myself - my post was a dig that you would probably see someone stick their tongue out after saying what i said.

But after reading a few lines of your last post - I skipped straight to the bottom and read your remark about the forums.
I would agree with that. Blue tongues should probably have there own SUB-Forum under the title of skinks.

Is that a leopard frog in the third bottom pix with that skink? That set up looks very natural, how big of an enclosure is it? Stick around for you may have some very valuable info to share with others who keep the same skink!!!!!!!!!! How long have you been keeping that kind of skink? Any breeding success? Dont be a stranger and thanks again for the cool pics!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes that is a leopard frog's butt. The enclosure is a 20 gal. I'ts about two thirds land and 1/3 water. I just stuck a piece of cheap plexi in and sealed it with aquarium sealant. It's kind of my native herp tank. I live in central Illinois. On land there is a leopard frog, green frog and that five-lined skink. These are all WC. I'm not too into collecting but I am really into local native herps. The water includes a tiny baby snapper, a couple crayfish and some fathead minnows. The turtle is also wild caught but the fish and crayfish are from the pet store. I know that the tank is a ittle overstocked but the leopard frog is still small and the turtle is just awaiting completion of his new enclosure. The plants are some ferns I got from Wal-mart which I do not believe to be native but I'll replace thim this year when I can get out and get some native ferns.

Anyway, I've had this skink since last spring and she has done fantastic. She did lay some eggs last year but she ended up eating them. Luckily for me she has constructed a burrow that sits right up against the glass so I can see her when she's in her burrow. It's very rare to see her out and about because she's so shy and VERY fast. I'll try to get some better pics nect time I see her. She eats crickets, premature pinky mice, and any bugs that may still be in there from the last time I collected out of the wild. I still see some pillbugs now and then. There are some nightcrawlers in there too I think but they're too big for her. I have a cup of rodent chow hidden within the ferns just to make sure the bugs are all gut-loaded sufficiently. Thanks for your interest!

The soil is covered with sphagnum moss which is, of course, not native but the light color keeps the frogs showing their best colors.

yes, you're right - there is much more than Bluetongues, Corucia and even Shinglebacks.
But three pics are not enough - tell us more - we all have to learn a lot!
