Heating matts/pads

triturus Feb 08, 2004 04:18 AM

Need to heat a ten gallon aquarium for a single male Paroedura pictus, aka panther gecko/Madagascan ground gecko. Room temp is 70 F. I want a temp range in the cage of at least 85 in the warm end, upper seventies in the cool end. What brand of heating pad would work best? I plan to use paper substrate or a reptile matt.

The undertank heaters that you can buy at the pet stores work well. They get a bit hotter than you requested, but it seems that the temps you are shooting for may be a little on the low end.
