How are they wrapped? Are they vacuum packed or in a baggie. Baggies are not for long term storage, maybe 3 months tops. Vacuum packing is better. Where are YOU keeping them? If they are in a chest freezer, at the bottom of the freezer, it is much better than the regular house refrigerator/freezer. And also better than an upright freezer. How long have they been frozen before you buy them? As in, where the dealer keeps them, how long is it before he sold them to you? How did he keep them, were they kept frozen ALL the time before he sold them to you or did they thaw somewhat in the truck on the way to the show?

But even if they only keep for three months, a lot of time it is cheaper to buy them frozen in bulk, especially if you buy them at a reptile show where you don't have to pay for shipping, than to pay for each one from a pet shop. And of course, the more snakes that you have, the higher the savings. So buy more cornsnakes!

The below pix is of my hypo emory rat snake, sometimes called the western corn.
