I have been looking at some of the Hovabators. Is there really that big a difference in the Turbofan model and the Thermal Air?? Which would you guys recommend?

Use the thermal one.

A)It's cheaper
B)The TurboFan model produces extremely high temps that are unwanted. I'm not saying anythine other than don't use the turbofan.
