I have the eggs, now what>>>

tortusjack Feb 08, 2004 01:20 PM

To help out a friend who has the corns, they presented me with 7 eggs today & asked me to incubate them.
Now I'm a tortoise man, so I am aware of the basics when it comes to incubation.
To help me ensure I do my best for them could someone kindly throw me in the right direction of how to incubate these soft shelled eggs?
Also what to expect at the point of emergence from the shell, ie do they come with an egg sac like torts?
When will the new hatchlings need their first food, what will that be?
Any & all info greatly appreciated.

many thanks

A good safe temp is 82 - 83 degrees F. Mine hatched in 56-58 days at this temp. Incubate in sphagnum moss or vermiculite or perlite. High ambient humidity.

They should absorb that before they come out of their eggs. They should not be rushed for that reason, or they may come out with it hanging out of their body.

After their first shed, and newborn pink mice.

Good luck!!!
