I was wondering, I've always heard that if your animals are lacking in minerals (all animals, reptiles, birds etc) that they will seek them out in their enviornment. This is evident by using salt wheels for rodents, mineral blocks for birds etc. We use miner-all or repti-vite for our leos. If you were to hang a calcium block in their tank, would they lick it?? I ask because it would work out in my setup much better, be alot neater, and I have never seen my leos near my dishes of vitamin powder anyway. What do you all think?

It probobly would work, leos lick everything. Only problem is does anyone market a reptile calcium lick. I'd have to say not likely.

Well, I work in a pet store. I have a turtle vitamin block that may work. The ingredients are:

Calcium sulphate
Magnesium sulphate
sodium chloride
and Vitamin B

Would any of that hurt the leos?

I personally think it would be to high in salt. Not sure if it would hurt the leo, but I would think they probally wont lick it much.

I know of people that use Cuttle Bone (bird calcium) for their leos. I don't know if I would use it exclusively, because I have so many geckos and I wouldn't mecessarily be able to tell if all were using it or not.
