gecko egg problem

gexman Jun 08, 2003 11:41 AM

My gecko just laid her second clutch last night and their was only one egg this time. There were two last time. I understand that is okay; she is young, not even a year old yet.
My problem is that when I was going through her shelter to find the egg that she buried i moved the egg. I could not tell if I accidently rolled the egg over or not. Could this pose any problems? Can the baby gecko in the egg die from this? It has only been less than a day since being layed.
thanx for any info you can provide for me.

yes sorry to say the embryo can die from being rolled over, however i dropped an egg when candling from about a foot onto the bottom of my hovobator and put it back the best position i could think of 4 days later a beautiful little baby hatched out and is still doing fine, just put the egg back in the position you think is "up" and leave it, anything could happen. Good luck.
