HELP!! Bearded Dragon with swollen throat!!!

IIDIRAGON Feb 08, 2004 04:34 PM

My Bearded Dragon has a swollen throat, only happen a day after she laid her eggs. Her throat looks like it has air in it. She not puffing it, looks like a tumar hanging from her jaw. It is pulling it down. I'm not sure, but I think it is calcium supplement I gave her. Because one time when I gave and her throat got huge, 2 wks later it started to go down, when I fed the supplement again it got swollen again. But this time it is worst. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated. e-mail IIDIRAGON@cs.com

thnx!!

It sounds like your beardie may be having an allergic reaction to the supplement. I'd suggest taking her into a vet to try and see what is causing the reaction. I would also change brands of supplement immediately.

can cause swollen throat. Does your calcium have Vitamin A? Have you givien her any foods high in A?
IF it is caused from Vitamin A, giving cabbage will help. the V/A will bind to cabbage and reduce sweeling.

Cabbage... how does it look like? I am Swedish, and I am not sure which kind. Do you have any picture of it?

It shouldn't I use Sticky Blue tongue farm Miner-all, it says it has minerals and trace minerals. Doesn't say it has vitamin, but I also was switching to Rep-cal because there was no sticky blue tongue farm in utah so I really dont know which one but both don't say if there is vitamin A or not.
