Feeding wild skinks

Grunta Feb 08, 2004 10:21 PM

Hi all,
I have heaps of blue tongue skinks in my yard and I was after a bit of advice as to what I can feed them. Obviously various vegies and insects but what a bout "Bearded dragon pellets"? i have a pet beardie so I have plenty of these, I'd like to leave them a bowl out but the vegies will go bad in the sun
thanks

Snails, Slugs, beardie food, Dog for for old dogs, Veggies, fruit etc... Seeing as you Have blueys in your yard - I'll take a stab and say you're a fellow Aussie. Where abouts?

Thanks, we've got heaps of snails around so that's probably what attracts them. I'm from Gosford, NSW and you?

I'm from Frankston VIC. Just make sure that the snails that you give to the blueys aren't in an area that has had snail bait or anything like that sprayed or dropped. If your bluey eats a snail that has eaten bait, it could die.
