Well I recieved them in decemeber..Yesterday was the first day I've seen them eat. And I had to shove the giant mealie in their mouth...I sorta put it up to their mouth and they both ate 2. I was excited. THey wont eat for me...and the temps are right. Their tails have gotten smaller since I got them. I'm worried. You guys might remember me posting about them before back in december. Thanks

Danielle

You should post this on the crested gecko forum youll probably get better advice there.
It sounds weird to me that you say their tails are getting smaller since crested dont really store fat in their tails, but maybe someone on the other forum knows what youre talking about.

Have you tried crickets? Most cresteds don't/won't eat mealworms. Also, you say temps are right, but you don't tell us what they are, or anything else about their set ups. How about baby food/fruits, also what supplements are you giving them? Are you misting their cages, how is their humidity? You might want to post on the crested gecko forum, you will get more info there.

Hey you guys! I was referring to my leos I recieved from Crestedgecko.com. I'm sorry for the confusion. The warm side is about 82 and the cool side is about 73-75. They have 2 hides, fresh water. I don't handle them. And they have eaten 2 giant mealies. They must be eating because They are pooping, am I right? they 2 females are in a 10 gal tank. On calci sand...yes I know.

I rather doubt that Garrick would send you a sick leo - he ain't that sort of guy (I'm just trying to take away any doubt you might have)

That being said - almost all eating problems are husbandry problems and/or stress. You need to make sure they are comfortable. Garrick's leos will eat, that I can almost guarantee it. He has a good rep . . .

Persoanlly - I think the biggest problem is that we stress th em out so much - constantly checking - touching - manipulatiing, etc. I think that sometimes we "vibe" them out of eating, with our constant nail biting over them.

Sometimes you just have to take out the food for 2 to three days, and then re-offer it. Make them nice, healthy, wiggly pey items.

You could try medium sized crickets - or some waxies to get them going. Be sure to supplement.

In the mean time, have you talked to Garrick? He could probably go over your husbandry issues - to see if you have everything. correct.

I hope this helps.

Explain in detail how you have them set up (temps, enclosure sizes etc.), maybe that will help us figure out what could be wrong. Have you tried offering crickets? Wax worms? Sometimes these can help picky feeders get jump started. Hmm over a month and no food, something is not right.
