This show was on animal planet a long time ago, and I recorded it and just watched it yesterday. What got me, the show was great, and I loved seeing all the venomous snakes, and a few non-venomous, but WHY can they NEVER get the straight scoop on corns???
They had one corn on there, an "Okeetee-ish" wild one. They showed her and said "This female Corn snake of the south east U.S. has mated a week ago, and is now looking for a place to lay her eggs. Three months after she lays them, the babies will hatch and be on thier own."
Now COME ON Animal Planet! She lays eggs a week after mating? Then how come I had to wait 2 months for them last year? And they incubate for 3 months? Funny, mine were only 2 months in incubation. Now I can almost understand the 3 month incubation, since in the wild temps may be a little cooler than our nice comfy incubators, but one week gravid?? I thought these shows were suposed to be "educational".
