I am one of Miss Windom's students and I was wondering about the normal behaviors of a leopard gecko and the behaviors of an unhealthy leopard gecko. Thank you.

well i am a new leo owner having my 2 first geckoes but ive learned that it can be very diferent from gecko to gecko.Generally i would say they should be hiding indoors during the day and wfter it cools down and gets dark they should generally come out. Mine try to climb the walls of my tank about an hour a day and generally ignore each other. they should be interested in food, the more it moves the better, they are atracked to the movement, i almost never see mine drink but i know they do, they should be very active at night walking all over the place and repositioning themselves in the warm part of the tank, if you interected with them freqently they should be tame, and slow down thier movement when you hold them, licking anything and everything with thier tounges exploring. If your gecko is mean you probably didnt interact with it enough. as for behavior, if its sick it will probaly not eat alot and not be active at night, mine are healthy but they seam to sleep 19 hours a day. one of mine loves people and watches them from the tank and will activly walk onto your hand to be played with, the other stays in the cave almost 24 hours a day and is well manered when held but generally more weary of being held.
