building cages for adult females.....need some opinions

boastud Feb 09, 2004 11:16 AM

I know that several people let the room naturally light their boa cages when using heattape as the heat source. My basement doesn't get much light. I was wondering if it would be ok to put like a 12" flourescent light in the cages? It will probably be pretty bright, will that bother them? Any advice would be great.

I prefer to light the room they are in and not the cage. Also put the the lights in the room on a timer so they shut off at night. That way you can control light cycles during breeding season.
