Meds for a sick Dumeril's

ReptoNick Feb 09, 2004 12:45 PM

What medicines have been used/can be used to treat a neonate Dumeril's Boa with a respiratory infection? Should these be administered by a vet, or can they be dissloved in the water dish and drank by the snake.

You should take him/her to a good reptile vet, and be sure to correct any husbandry problems which may have helped create the respiratory infection. You can give the meds once shown how to do so. It's not all that difficult, and I haven't heard of anything you can just put into a water bowl...you'd really have no way of measuring the dose they receive that way. Unless of course they drank the entire bowl of water within a limited amount of time(not likely-lol) Take care, and hope he/she comes back around to perfect health for you.
