Do babies play dead?

theLC Feb 09, 2004 06:00 PM

my girlfriend called me today hysterical and crying that she was feeding our baby beardie and he just layed down and closed his eyes. she tried to wake him and didn't move even when she rolled him on his back. then a couple minutes later he popped his head up and was normal again. then he did it all over again. anyone experience this before?

bearded dragons remind me of year old human children at times when they close their eyes, they think "if I can not see it, it does not exist or see me"

He is not happy with either her or what she is doing, so he stays still and closes his eyes to make her go away in his mind.

Just a thought, this may also be stressing him out, in fact its a good indicator he is stressed by her for some reason, could be because she is not you, or because he senses she is not a good person for him.

you hit it on the head. she was force feeding him per the vets instructions. he has to take medicine thru a syringe for his arm that was broken last month. cool, thanks for the help.

or a worm if he is eating those..... even putting the meds in his pellets if he eats them...... sneaky way to get them to take it without forcing them.

Hope he is doing better
